METRA LOCKER TROUBLSHOOTING GUIDE

How to operate and access METRA Locker System

1.    LOCKER EMERGENCY OPEN INSTRUCTIONS 

•    Step 1: Access the Locker Panel Box

  1. Retrieve the key from the spare key box in the management office, located in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet. (The filing cabinet key can be found in the winc box on Juliet’s desk.)
  2.  Use the key to open the locker panel box, which is situated under the iPad in the bathroom. 

•    Step 2: Emergency Open Button

1.    In case of emergency or power disruption, press the locker emergency open button, until a long beep is heard.


All locker doors in this bank will open, one-by-one, allowing patrons access to their belongings.

The internal back-up power will last approximately 10-20 minutes.

•    Step 3: Close the Locker Panel Box

1.    Close the Locker Panel Box and place the key back in the spare key box.

•    Step 4:  Emergency Contact

WHEN A MEMBER IS UNABLE TO ACCESS THEIR LOCKER 

1.    Confirm that the customers access band/card/PIN indeed does not open the locker. Often, it does come down to:

a.    User error

b.    Attempting to open the wrong locker.

2.    Staff member to use Master access card to open the locker and then get the customer to confirm contents.

3.    If the master card fails to open the locker, then the “Emergency Open” function on the control card can be utilised.

•    To use the “emergency open” button, firstly the control card for that locker will need to be located. It will be in the control cabinet to either the left or the right of the locker in question.

•    Press the button as shown in the attached image.

•    ALL the lockers attached to that control card will then open one-by-one, in most cases it will be the entire bank of lockers.

•    If there is more than one control card present, then the emergency open button will need to be pressed on each control card.

 

WHEN THE TOUCH SCREEN IS DISPLAYING AN ERROR MESSAGE 

1.    “Out of Lockers” means:

a.    All lockers are currently being used by patrons.

b.    Empty lockers are currently in service mode and require master clearing. 

2.    “Out of Order” means:

a.    A software update may have occurred, complete a power cycle by turning the lockers off and back on and wait for the system to re-load. This can take 5-10 minutes to complete.
